Corrections

How we fix mistakes, and how to report one.

We correct in place, and we say so

When a page is wrong we fix the page and add a dated line saying what changed. We do not quietly edit a figure and leave the page looking as though it always said that.

Where an error changed the meaning of a recommendation, the note stays at the top of the page, not in a footer.

How to report one

Email editor@lagunabasicsph.com with the page and the problem.

Conditions that have merely changed since we checked are not errors — they are a re-check, and they go in the same queue.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I report a mistake on a Laguna Basics page?

Send the page address, the sentence as written, and what you believe the correct version is, with a source if you have one. Put the word correction in the subject so it is routed properly. We check the claim against the facts we hold, and if it is wrong we fix the page rather than argue about it.

What kinds of errors will the desk correct?

We correct wrong figures, wrong contract terms, wrong platform names, broken calculator outputs and any sentence that overstates what a broker offers. We also correct the regulator sentence if it drifts from: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC - not by the SEC of the Philippines. Wording we simply disagree with is not an error.

Do you mark corrected pages so readers can see what changed?

Yes, when the change affects a figure or a claim a reader might have relied on. The page is updated in place and the correction is noted so the change is visible rather than silent. We do not backdate pages or remove a corrected sentence without saying that it was changed.

What if I disagree with a correction you made?

Reply to the same thread with your reasoning and any source. Corrections are decided on evidence, not on who asked, and a second look is normal. If the point depends on something we cannot verify, such as live pricing or execution quality, the page will describe it as depending on the broker rather than state a figure.

Will you correct something a reader says is wrong about leverage?

We will check it against the one figure we hold: the maximum leverage available in the Philippines is the cap that applies to the entity serving this country, and at that cap a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin. We do not print other ratios, so a request to add one will be declined, not corrected.
